liteYOKE® Information
liteYOKE® are a range of support yokes designed to be used by electrical contractors when carrying out the installation of lights, speakers or indeed any surface or recessed fitting into "layin grid" type of suspended ceiling. Without the use of this product the combined weight and sprung action of the fitting's retention clips erode the delicate ceiling tile and in time the ceiling tile cracks and fails. This is especially prevailent when carrying out routine maintenance, changing lamps etc.
Contractor's Packs (Blanks)
Available as individual packs of 6no blank liteYOKES designed to be bought as consumables, carried in vans by contractors & service engineers (Pre-drilled pilot hole) centered for use with hole drill. Blanks can also be useful for surface mounted items Eg: PIR Sensors, Camera's, Ventilation fans, Smoke detectors Etc.
Site Specific (Pre-Cut apertures)
liteYOKE'S can be ordered as "site specific" and delivered directly to site with apertures already cut out, saving hours of valuable site time.liteYOKES are available pre-cut to any size, shape, orientation required to suit any type of fitting.
Strength & Stability
The Techtile liteYOKE® is the only product of this type on the market, the shape has evolved to provide strength & stability whilst reducing the overall weight making it easier to install and reducing the load on the ceiling grid. For routine maintenance (Changing lamps) it is essential that liteYOKES are installed to avoid fittings damaging the ceiling tile and potentially falling out all together. (Health & Safety Implications)
Industry Feedback
It is often the case that the method of supporting light fittings within suspended ceiling tiles vary immensly, from pieces of broken pallet & scrap timber to random cut sheets of plywood bought from trade depots at the last minute. Often the responsibility for who is supplying the supports for the electrical contractor is at the very least vaque.
"The time wasted in these situations can be costly & frustrating, and in terms of the installation standard, unsatisfactory".
Adrian Knowles, Managing Director of A.C Electrical Contractors Ltd, Cheshire.
